While CAD software is effective in creating two-dimensional (2-D) drawings, its most sought-after ability is that of three-dimensional (3-D) models. Bill Gates and Microsoft: Background, Developments and Controversy
[ send me this paper ]
This is an 8 page paper discussing Bill Gates: history, controversy and Microsoft. Bill Gates, the co-founder and current chairman and chief software architect of Microsoft has received a great deal of controversy and criticism over the last several decades in regards to his company and practices. Early criticism was circulated by his competitors that the software developed for the highly successful Windows operating system was based on that of Apple computers’. The software industry has always been considered on a slightly different plane than that of the computer hardware industry as many people and computer programmers believe that the ownership of software has always been considered much more venerable than that of hardware. Nevertheless, the success of Microsoft software has given the company 90 percent of the current market which has resulted in an antitrust and monopoly case over the last three years. But despite the fact that the case has taken a toll on the profits of Microsoft, which still reach $9 billion each year, Gates continues in his determination to develop new ground breaking software and continues to have a hands-on involvement in all projects. It is because of this tenacity in the development of software, that regardless of controversy and court rulings, Gates would have made Microsoft a success regardless of any hindrances.
